Guideline
The following guidelines must be read and understood by all participants.

Participation Guidelines:

Teams

There can not be more than 5 entries per institute.
The submissions could be individual or in teams of not more than 4 students.
A student can be part of only one team.
The participating students should not have faced any disciplinary action or failed in any of the term examinations.
Though a number of faculty members can guide the students, however, the Principal Faculty Mentor must be clearly identified.
The entries can be from India based campuses only.
The applicants should be Indian citizens only.

Submissions


Please ensure that the 'Registration Form' and 'Attestation Form' are completed, scanned and emailed along with the abstract submission. Please mention your submission code at the time of final paper submission. This is compulsory for your submissions to be considered valid for assessment.
Entry should not contain any confidential information. HP shall not acknowledge nor return to sender any non-disclosure agreements or invention disclosure forms received from participants. HP will place content and material in part or in whole on public accessible website or any other media in HP's efforts to promote the event. HP also reserves the right not to post the content and material at all.
The work should be original and should not be copied from any source. Entry should not contain the protected works of third parties.
The deadlines and format of submission must be adhered to. Failure to do so may lead to submission not to be considered for the final competition.
HP shall not be liable for any late, lost, incomplete, illegible and misdirected entries.
The decision of the judges would be final.
HP shall not entertain any requests for verification of receipt of entry nor for the return of material to participants.
Submissions can only be sent through email at hpinnovate@hp.com.

Awards


All team members and only one Principal Faculty Mentor of the winning teams are entitled to receive the award.
The winning team which will be sent to Palo Alto, USA can be accompanied only by one Principal Faculty Mentor who has guided the team on the technical paper/prototype.
For the Award Ceremony, HP shall bear only limited travel costs (tickets from the city of residence/college to city where function will be hosted and back) and overnight accommodation costs. Local candidates would not be reimbursed any conveyance expenses. The participants shall, at their own cost, make any additional arrangements as may be required by them from the station/airport/bus-station to the hotel and back and bear other expenses for activities related to their participation in the contest.
Though a number of faculty members can guide the students, however, the Principal Faculty Mentor must be clearly identified. HP would only pay for the travel (as per the terms explained earlier) for the team along with one faculty member which is invited to the award ceremony.
The participants shall maintain adequate insurance coverage or make alternate arrangements for any medical expenses while on travel, whether within or outside India, in connection with this contest.
The winning team is expected to make a presentation of their work in the U.S.


Intellectual Property:
Your papers submissions and prototypes will be shared in the public domain. If you have concerns about the Intellectual Property (IP issues), please review them before submission.
Students have to ensure that the work submitted by them is not plagiarized. They will have the sole responsibility to seek permission for the work that they use in developing in the project under the guidance of the faculty.
HP does not have any responsibility towards the content used in the submission of the projects.
