Retailers can now offer customers guaranteed faster order creation, as well as Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phone printing. HP Photo Centre 4 also offers retailers new back-of-counter features including a Customisable Input Station “Attract Loop” for scrolling messages on the idle printer screens as well as product-specific barcodes for easier point of sale entry.
HP Software - Retail Management System
HP’s new Retail Management System (RMS) allows for a Photo Centre to be run seamlessly, reducing error and down time and increasing efficiency, resulting in more opportunities for retailers to increase revenue.
HP’s RMS service management monitors the health of each printer, input station and network component and features Business Management functionality, which provides retailers with tools to manage day-to-day operations. Using RMS, users can remotely deploy software updates and upgrades onto the Photo Centres, as well as set pricing and product availability, and utilise sales reporting functions.
HP Photosmart ML1000 Minilab printer
HP’s DIMA Award Winner 2009, the new dry ML1000 Minilab is the world’s first, fastest and most versatile dry mini-lab printer designed for high print volumes. The ML1000 enables retailers to save on labour with minial operator intervention and space and requires low investment and ongoing running costs.
Using durable, pigment-based HP Vivera Pigment inks, the HP Photosmart ML1000 Minilab printer delivers the longest lasting retail photos available – lasting five times longer than traditional photos with 200 years fade resistance. The ML1000 prints lab-quality 4x6-inch photos at a rate of 1,500 prints per hour and 5x7-inch photos at a rate of 750 prints per hour. Offering 16 different print sizes, the ML1000 also allows retailers to offer consumers a range of printing options, including 8x10-inch, panoramas and enlargements up to 12x18-inch, in both gloss and matte finishes.
HP Photosmart PM2000e Microlab Printer
The HP Photosmart PM2000e Microlab Printer is the next generation of HP’s dry retail photo printing solutions, delivering instant, lab-quality photos, with up to 200 years fade resistance in both 4x6-inch and 5x7-inch sizes. This compact, simple-to-operate printer now includes a new innovative order sorting system capable of holding up to 18 orders and with back printing capabilities.
HP dry printing solutions eliminate environmental burdens of silver halide
HP’s dry printing solutions for retail eliminate the traditional environmental burdens of silver halide (AgX) systems and the need for operators to interact with and handle potentially hazardous chemicals.
Replacing traditional photo print processing with digital photo printing allows retailers to eliminate the overflow of developer, fixer and wash water to municipal or private waste treatment facilities.
The new HP Photosmart Minilab and Microlab printers are self contained, and do not require a water source or drains; to operate, they simply need an electrical source. Additionally, HP supplies users with retail publishing solutions that can be easily recycled after use. The HP Planet Partners program offers free shipping materials and postage to help retailers return used supplies for recycling.
